²² Then Menahem ·died [^Llay down/^Tslept with his fathers/ancestors], and his son Pekahiah became king in his place.

Pekahiah King of Israel

²³ Pekahiah son of Menahem became king over Israel in Samaria during Uzziah’s [^Calso called Azariah] fiftieth year as king of Judah. Pekahiah ·ruled [reigned] two years, ²⁴ and he did ·what the Lord said was wrong [^Levil in the eyes/sight of the Lord]. Jeroboam son of Nebat had led Israel to sin, and Pekahiah did not ·stop doing [depart/turn away from] the same sins.
